Parents could do the following to advocate for ESD
Educate Your Children
Talk with children about intra-personal violence, boundary setting, and self-defense. Encourage them to learn more online and through in-person training. If no in-person training exists, create them.
Talk with children about intra-personal relationships and dating and the responsibilities of good partners.
Bring ESD To Your Schools
Speak to schools, teachers, coaches about ESD to share your knowledge and encourage them to learn more and provide it as a wellness and health activity.
Work with other parents and parent organizations to share information about ESD and its proven effects. Advocate to begin ESD in schools, recreation centers, etc.
Become An ESD Ambassador
Promote ESD on community list serves and blogs to increase awareness and demand for it.
Ask about ESD training at doctor's appointments, counseling sessions and other interactions with social service providers.
