Community Leader

Community leaders may include local government officials, business owners, journalists, faith leaders and more. These are the people who have a network peers across sectors. Community leaders could do the following to advocate for ESD:

Outreach

  • Recommend ESD as a part of programming in Parks & Recreation or in school Physical Education.

  • Sponsor ESD demonstrations at community festivals or events.

  • Speak with social service providers about ESD and its importance as a part of violence prevention and trauma recovery.

  • Connect with media outlets to cover intra-personal violence trends and ESD trainings.

  • Encourage youth leaders to learn more and advocate for it.
